Sherie Drake grew up in Milwaukie, a suburb of Portland, Oregon. She moved to Sunnyvale, California. with her husband and continued her interest in art, taking art classes from De Anza College, and private lessons from Bob Gerbracht and Michael Lindstrom, who taught portrait and figure.
Once her sons where in school Sherie obtained a Teaching Credential at San Jose State to teach through Adult Education in Mt. View, Los Altos, San Jose and also the Palo Alto Center from 1990-2001 where she taught figure and portraiture.
She retired from teaching and moved with her husband to the beautiful Sierra-Nevada foothills. Since then she has shared a studio with three other artists where they show their work and paint. She enjoys painting in Acrylic a variety of subjects, animals, people, landscapes. The studio, gallery is in the Bradford Building, 19 W. Bradford in Sonora.
When the opportunity to join the Aloft Gallery became available she was pleased to be included and share in the opening in the Baer building.
