Rayna Coller
Rayna was introduced to art at an early age by her Mother, whose many artist friends were often seen drawing and painting. Books about Impressionism, and then four years in Europe, led her to an interest in Art History, which she pursued to some extent in college. Following a Ph. D. in French Literature from Yale, a stint in surface textile design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, and then 22 years as a flamenco dancer (including study in Spain and performing at Café Sevilla) in San Diego, she moved to Sonora, a great environment in which to paint and draw. She has exhibited in the past at the Aloft Gallery and at Bradford Studio B, in Sonora. She works in many media, and has won prizes in drawing, pastels and oils, at the MLAA Annual Juried Art Show.
