Ceramics
I have had a life long fascination with clay, and studied briefly at Cal State LA before moving up to the Mother Lode in 1973. Life, family and my business as a wholesale native plant nursery put clay work on hold until retirement, when I could devote my energy full time to this passion. I took classes at Columbia College until I could set up my own studio. I have taken various workshops to explore different aspects of clay work, and have traveled regularly to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff to participate in wood firings. Working in highfire stoneware and porcelain, I draw inspiration from the natural world, especially ocean life and plants. I am an exhibiting member of ACGA, the Association of Clay and Glass Artists of California, and have taught workshops locally in ceramic techniques.
