Brenda shares time in Kern and Tuolumne Counties. Her 36 years of public service in Colorado and California inspired her to recreate her experiences on paper. Her connection to people, natural environments, large wildfire suppression, wilderness, wild and Scenic Rivers, wildlife, farming and ranching are backdrops to her art. When not working in her continuing role as a public servant she devotes time to her art. Her training is ongoing through workshops by Tina Moore and through instruction and critiques from her mentor, dear friend, and artist Kathleen Davids.
Brenda loves color and the rich vibrancy of pastels. Her piece “Oscar Ostrich” was accepted as an entry in the 2012 Pastel Society of the West Coast Show. Pastels have been her medium of choice since beginning her adventure in art in 2010. She is a member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast and the Mother Lode Art Association. She shows her work at the Aloft Art Gallery in Sonora, California.
